Darla Napora 32, beloved wife, sister, daughter and expecting mother, passed away in her home on Thursday, August 11th, 2011. Darla is survived by her loving husband, Greg Napora. Darla was born in Yakima, Washington and was the youngest of three daughters. She lived her first eighteen years there, and then moved to Seattle, Washington and then on to San Mateo where she started her career serving her friends in the community. She loved life simply and cherished those around her; she was an avid supporter of BADRAP which supports the Pitbull cause. She loved to travel and spend time with her friends; she enjoyed the outdoors and sports. One personal achievement was running in her 1st half marathon. Darla had a personality that would light up a room, vibrant and known by her ingenious eye shadow and outspokenness. She was a pillar of sanity to everyone else's insanity. Darla is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal great grandparents. She leaves behind her best friend and husband, Greg; mother, Sandy Robinson; father and step mother, Doug and Laurie Robinson; mother and father in law, Jan and Krystyna Napora; two sisters, Heather Jasso and Jennifer Mitchell; sister and brother-in-law, Sylwia and Jeremy Rice; one nephew, Johnathan Rice; and three nieces, Jordan and Isabell Jasso and Jacqlyn Rice. The memorial will be held Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 at 1:00pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Rd., Redwood City. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to The Darla Napora Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.

Darla is the daughter of Darold and Sandra Larson, half sister of Kevin Larson and Lindsay Kay Larson and granddaughter of Mavis Lorraine Krause Larson and Ahlert Garhard Larson.

Darla Napora, 32-years old, was mauled to death by one of her two pet pit bulls inside her Pacifica home. At the time attack, Darla was in her sixth month of pregnancy. Her husband, Greg Napora, returned from work that day at lunchtime and discovered her body on the floor with the couple's 2-year old male pit bull hovering over it. According to Greg, Darla was an avid fan of Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pit Bulls (BadRap). Greg did not explain why the couple had not neutered "Gunner," as strongly recommended by the group. The pair's other pit bull was a spayed female and was not involved in the attack. Twenty-four hours after her death, Greg delivered intolerable statements to the media including: 1.) "He doesn't blame the dog," 2.) It's "not the breed's fault," 3.) "[Pit bulls] are the most loving animals I have ever had in my life," and 4.) He "plans to bury his spouse, Darla, with their pet's cremated remains in her casket." His last statement, in particular, horrified citizens across the country.
